Image Magazine Relaunches

Image, the Association of Photographers' magazine, relaunches for the iPad this week.

Published by Apptitude Media under contract to the Association of Photographers, the new-look Image is created by the team behind the British Journal of Photography. Aimed at image-makers in advertising, editorial and design, Image is about both art and commerce, and celebrates visual elan and creative business solutions.

CEO of Apptitude Media Marc Hartog states: "Apptitude Media is delighted to work with the Association of Photographers to bring Image magazine to life on the Mag+ platform. The forward-thinking AOP team have understood that the formerly printed members' magazine reinvented as a bespoke and compelling digital version provides immense opportunity to expand the global membership base and delight readers around the world with high-quality content. We are at the beginning of the biggest change to how people consume content in a generation, and it is innovation such as this that will encourage adoption by both readers and advertisers."

Michael Harvey, Member Director of the AOP, adds: "In an ever-changing media landscape, it is vital for visual brands to evolve with innovative ways to engage readers and showcase amazing content. The Apptitude Media team have been instrumental in bringing Image to life in an interactive touchscreen environment, embedding social media and live news into the heart of our dynamic new app for aspiring and professional photographers internationally."

Features from the launch issue include clothes label Wren, the brand behind the viral video phenomenon First Kiss; Magnum photographers Peter Marlow, Harry Gruyaert and Paolo Pellegrin on commission for Telecom Italia's Rozzano Data Centre; and Erik Kessels, founder of KesselsKramer ad agency.

The first issue is free to download from the App Store.
