According to the ABC, registration has been made a lot simpler and you can now choose your own password.
What else has changed?
* All ABC and ABCe data can now be found under one url: www.abc.org.uk
* Data can now be accessed three ways:
1. Via the search engine as before
2. Via a browse data area
3. Via Print, Digital and Exhibitions buttons which pre-filter the data area
* You now have the option to view data on screen, via pdf, export into excel or a csv file.
* You can now select and access the specific data you want and produce a report which matches your requirements. Whatever you are interested in you can add into (or remove) from a data report.
* All report selection criteria can be saved in a personalised secure area called 'My ABC'. This means when you re-visit the site you can quickly re-run a report.
* Investment has been made in a new infrastructure designed to significantly improve speed and flexibility. (NB speed of service will depend on the end user capability as well though!)
* You can now search the whole site or just search the data area.
Access rights
How much data you can view will depend on your access rights. There are a number of different user types; Guest (A non-registered user can access the latest published data for a given product via search), Registered User (In addition to the above, a registered user, once logged in, can sign up to receive free tailored eAlerts about ABC data and can also purchase access to additional ABC data, e.g. published reports, historic data or access to the report builder to produce tailored reports), ABC Member (ABC Members, once logged in, will have full access to all historical data and reports and members only content. This includes marketing support to download and technical information for ABCe Subscribers), eAlerts users (Anyone registered to receive eAlerts will also need to re-register to continue to receive these free updates. Registration for eAlerts has also been made a lot simpler and should only take a few moments to do, says the ABC.)
