Alan Quarry named Chairman of BPA Worldwide Board of Directors

Alan Quarry, chairman of Quarry Integrated Communications, was appointed Chairman of the BPA Worldwide Board of Directors during its recent meeting held in New York City.

Quarry will serve as BPA’s Chairman through May 2019.

“I am very excited to begin my tenure as Chairman of the BPA Board at this time,” Quarry said. “BPA is a front-running organization when it comes to thought leadership in the media industry, and now, with the coming launch of the B2B Media Exchange, made up of BPA’s audited B2B members, it will be the destination for automated digital advertising buying and selling of quality audience and inventory. I am confident this organization will continue to lead in new and innovative ways.”

Quarry and his 90-plus-person team at Quarry Integrated Communications is focused on helping clients build businesses. Quarry is headquartered in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, with offices in Raleigh, NC and San Jose, CA.

In addition to working with the BPA Board, Quarry has also served as a director of the Institute of Canadian Advertising and is a past president (twice) of the Trans Canada Advertising Agency Network. He has taught both fourth-year Marketing Communications and MBA courses at Wilfrid Laurier University since 1992. Quarry served as the Entrepreneur In Residence at WLU in 2010, 2011 and 2013. He was awarded Honorary Alumnus status by Wilfrid Laurier University.

Quarry has been elected to the board of North Waterloo Farmers Mutual Insurance Company and to the board of the Golden Triangle Angel Investor Network.

He has worked on the professional advisory board of the Graphic Arts and Advertising program at Conestoga College since 1990. Quarry has also served on the United Way since 1992 and the Kitchener- Waterloo Foundation communications committees (1985) and was nominated twice for the regional Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year award. In 2000, Quarry was elected the first-ever Canadian President of the Advertising Agency Network International (AANI), a group of 22 agencies from the U.S. and Canada, with affiliated agencies from Europe.
