Angel Business Communications – changes at the top

Bill Dunlop Uprichard is to step down from his role as Chief Executive Officer to be succeeded by Stephen Whitehurst, Chief Operations Officer.

Angel Business Communications yesterday announced that Bill Dunlop Uprichard is stepping down from his role as CEO to become Executive Chairman and will be taking up his new role with immediate effect. He will continue to manage the existing joint ventures, as well as carrying out his responsibilities as Director of Evito. He will be succeeded by Stephen Whitehurst, a member of Angel's Executive Board who has so far spent 30 years with the company, most recently as Chief Operations Officer (COO).

Bill joined Angel in 1981 and has played a pivotal role in the company's growth and successes during that time. Stephen joined Angel six years later and continues to be a key part of the business' operations and development, says the company.

Angel also announced that three of the company's Directors; Scott Adams, Sukhi Bhadal and Jason Holloway are to become shareholders in the business. Scott and Sukhi are Directors of Multimedia and joined Angel in 2002. Jason is Director of IT Publishing and initially joined Angel in 1995 for 6 years and re-joined in 2010. This move recognises the commitment of these colleagues to the growth and development of the business.

Said Bill: “It has been a privilege to lead a stable of products which put such a strong emphasis on imagination and excellence. With the strength of the brands and the breadth of talent that we have, there are tremendous opportunities ahead for the team.”

Said Stephen: “The company’s culture of inclusion has been at the core of its success, rooted in the talent and dedication of its people. This philosophy will continue to drive our business forward.”
