AOP announces agenda for Inside Out Digital Publishing Convention

The Association for Online Publishing (AOP) has announced the agenda for its second annual two-day convention aimed, it says, at keeping digital publishers informed and inspired to take action and secure the future of online publishing.

Launched last year, the format allows delegates to pick and mix which sessions to attend, providing sessions for all disciplines and levels of career development, says the AOP.

Taking place on 1st and 2nd November 2017, Inside Out will culminate a year of AOP campaigns and workshops with an ambitious agenda to solve key industry challenges at a collective level. The seven modules reflect the issues behind the campaigns – from the importance of premium content and the delivery of high quality user experience, to the race for superior data products and how to optimise revenue streams. Each will provide a forum for people to come together, assess the state of the industry, and drive action for change.

The event will also see the launch of the Ad Blocking report, sponsored by Vibrant Media, and the Ad Quality Charter, with further discussion on how to maximise opportunities in the fight against ad blocking, and the value of quality content offerings.

Confirmed speakers include Christian Broughton, Editor of The Independent, Dora Michail, Telegraph Media Group’s Digital Managing Director, Nic Newman, from Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism, Sanjay Nazerali, Global Chief Strategy Officer for Dentsu Aegis Network, Juan Senor, Partner with Innovation Media, Zack Sullivan, Operations and Marketing Director for Future Publishing, Lolly Mason, VP Media Partnerships EMEA for Celtra, and Richard Foster, UK Managing Director for LiveRamp.

“In an age where anyone can publish their opinion and mask it as fact, the call for premium content is more important than ever. In addition, increasing importance is being placed on brand safety and contextual relevance, as advertisers realise the business effectiveness of placing ads where they are likely to reach the right users, with positive brand associations,” said Richard Reeves, AOP managing director. “Premium publishers have always been subjected to strict regulations, and it is clear that the value of this is now of paramount importance.

“There are numerous challenges for the digital world of today, which is why a combined industry-wide effort, and continued energy and commitment to the cause, are essential. Inside Out provides a forum to enable just that, and is pivotal in driving the industry forward – we’re not just here to talk about change, we’re here to make it happen.”

The AOP Inside Out convention will take place on the 1st and 2nd of November 2017 at 11 Cavendish Square, London.
