BBC’s Frank Gardner opens SC’s Executive Network

More than 50 senior corporate security executives gathered to hear BBC security correspondent Frank Gardner speak at SC magazine’s first Executive Network recently.

Gardner, who has reported extensively on terrorism and cyber issues, spoke about internet security in a geopolitical context.

He has had first-hand experience of terrorism attacks, surviving an Al-Qaeda gun attack while filming in Saudi Arabia in 2004.

SC magazine editor Paul Fisher said: “This was the first of many events for the Executive Network and we feel that it is has been a great success. There was a very good turnout with attendees saying that they enjoyed the guest speaker, and many people stayed afterwards to drink and meet other security managers.”

The Executive Network is designed to give senior security executives from FTSE 250 companies an opportunity to share ideas an opinions in a secure but relaxed environment.

The Network will hold online events as well as talks, which are scheduled to take place every four months.
