The new app is based on PageSuite’s latest feed-driven app CMS that enables publishers to execute a multi-channel publishing strategy with minimal resource, says PageSuite.
Selected editorial content is fed into customisable templates before being scheduled to launch. Before publishing, users have the option to edit the page order and tweak layouts and once published they are able to edit live content.
The Belfast Telegraph’s new app features an integrated subscription model that charges readers a monthly fee to access the Digital Edition and supplements. The app itself is free to download and is currently available from iTunes for iPad devices.
It features a video section and a full page image gallery which helps to enhance the content and engage readers for longer. The puzzles section is fully interactive, enabling readers to take part in the daily crossword or solve the latest Sudoku puzzle. There’s also a live weather feed, TV Guide and horoscopes which are all accessible from the menu.

The launch of the Belfast Telegraph’s new app follows the launch of the Irish Independent’s new feed-driven app, another title from Independent News & Media which was launched in December and is also built using PageSuite Live. The Belfast Telegraph features the latest sports, business and entertainment news from Northern Ireland and the UK.
