InPublishing: Big Changes as PPA Awards Relaunch for 2019

Applications are now open to enter the 39th PPA Awards 2019, which have had a major revamp.

The awards continue to recognise innovation, creativity and hard work, with a host of new categories added to reflect more accurately the true breadth of talent and roles that drive publishing success today, says the PPA. These include: Campaign of the Year, Business Intelligence Brand Of The Year, Magazine Retailer Of The Year, Team Of The Year, and Unsung Hero, an award which salutes the vital contributions of behind-the-scenes industry stalwarts.

Importantly, the rebooted event will now incorporate the best of PPA Customer Direct Awards for subscriptions specialists; the annual PPA MagSell Awards for retail excellence; and the PPA Digital Awards, which will no longer take place in the autumn. According to the PPA, this new, streamlined approach will bring greater focus to each award, showcasing achievements to the widest audience in a single, stand-out celebration of excellence.

Barry McIlheney, PPA CEO, said: "Instead of four different awards shows we will now have one truly Grand Prix event that celebrates the very best of the best across all of our constituencies. To win one of these new PPA Awards really will be the ultimate accolade for anyone working anywhere within professional publishing."

The revamped awards will also see the introduction of a specially designed awards trophy inspired by the iconic Eagle Comic, home of the legendary Dan Dare. The trophy will be handed to winners on the night.

The 39th Annual PPA Awards will take place on the evening of Wednesday 19 June at the Grosvenor House Hotel on London's Park Lane. The awards are open for entries immediately. Closing date for entries is Friday 8 March 2019. To enter visit: www.ppaawards.co.uk
