Blippar triumphs at Augmented Reality Awards

Blippar has won “best browser” at the Augmented Reality Awards held in London this week.

The first UK awards for the augmented reality industry, they are designed to recognise and reward companies successfully developing new technologies, creative strategies and industry-leading innovations.

Blippar beat competition in the “best augmented reality browser” category from six other companies from around the world, including Layar and Aurasma. The awards were part of the AR Summit, now in its second year.

Jess Butcher, CMO and co-founder of Blippar, said: “We’re thrilled with this award as it’s a great validation of our technology and the hard work our team has put in over the past year. It also underlines our belief that we’ve got the best and most intuitive augmented reality platform available for bringing physical products and printed materials to life.”

Since it launched last year Blippar has partnered with major global brands including Nike, Sony, Heinz, Samsung and Guinness to augment their products and advertising.
