This means that online news about Brighton’s local football team, Brighton & Hove Albion F.C., will now be marked as ‘premium’ content available only to subscribers.
The news was announced in an editorial by Argus sports journalist Brian Owen.
Owen wrote: “The way we deliver our online coverage of Albion is changing slightly – and we believe it is for the better.
“For years, we have proudly served fans with unrivalled and in-depth coverage. At The Argus, our unbeatable coverage will continue for many more years to come.
“However, from today, there is going to be a slight change. Some of our articles will become subscriber-only ‘premium’ content, meaning it can only be accessed if you are a subscriber to theargus.co.uk.
“We passionately believe in the value of good, trusted journalism and providing in-depth sports coverage.
“If you share that belief, you can continue reading all articles on the Seagulls with a digital subscription, with full access to exclusives and high-quality content.”
Owen added: “Every subscription is not only giving you full access to our coverage but is also supporting local journalism and local jobs.
