Carbuyer reaches 100 million YouTube video views

Carbuyer.co.uk, Dennis Publishing’s car reviews website, celebrates its fourth birthday this month with the news that it has generated 100 million video views on its YouTube channel.

The Carbuyer channel now boasts more than 400 videos and 245,000 subscribers, making it Britain’s favourite car reviews YouTube channel, says Dennis Publishing.

Carbuyer.co.uk continues to grow at a rapid rate, too. Since launching in October 2010, Carbuyer now hosts 1.9m visitors a month, who consume more than 5.5m pages between them.

Carbuyer caters for in-market car buyers who want to know about the running costs, reliability and practicality of the car they’re looking to buy. According to Dennis, the site’s review content is jargon-free and Carbuyer is the only automotive brand approved by the Plain English Campaign.

Video is at the centre of Carbuyer’s editorial. All key makes and models are reviewed on Carbuyer.co.uk and are accompanied by the video reviews that also feature on YouTube. Three of its most popular videos have now each generated more than 1m views each, and more will follow in the coming months.

Long-standing Carbuyer presenter Mat Watson has recently been joined by Ginny Buckley – together they create down-to-earth reviews examining every major new car on sale. Ginny brings with her more than 20 years’ experience as a motoring journalist and presenter.

Stuart Milne, editor of Carbuyer, said: “We’re delighted to have reached this milestone in such a short space of time. Carbuyer has a huge loyal audience and new users are attracted to us in ever-increasing numbers.

“Ginny’s arrival has already strengthened Carbuyer’s position and will ensure the brand remains the leader in delivering helpful, insightful and comprehensive car review editorial.”
