Cedar CEO appointed as new Chair of CMA

Cedar CEO Clare Broadbent has been appointed the chair of the newly rebranded Content Marketing Association (formerly the Association of Publishing Agencies).

She will work with Julia Hutchison, COO and Patrick Fuller CEO, to champion content marketing as an effective tool for brands as well as attracting a greater diversity of members.

Broadbent (pictured) remarked “we have entered a new era in content marketing with channels that completely change the face of owned and earned media content strategies.

“Print, digital content and video remain central, but complementing the traditional channels with social media management, tablet and smartphone content, app development, brand-funded TV programming and gamification will ensure we maximize ROI and take our campaigns for brands to a new level”.

Earlier this year Cedar presented a new positioning to enforce its commitment to the power of content marketing: Big ideas. Smart content. Commercial success. Over the past year Cedar has seen tremendous growth opening offices in Shanghai and Cape Town as well as expanding its portfolio into new content channels including tablet magazines, social media campaigns, HTML5 ezines and ambient sales solutions.

Broadbent has been in the industry for over 20 years and CEO at Cedar for 5 years. She has built Cedar into a global multi-platform content and commercial provider.

Broadbent said: “The CMA is truly the world’s leading global content marketing association with member agencies offering effective cross-platform content strategy and delivery. I am looking forward to working with the team at the CMA and our member agencies to carry on promoting the tremendous and growing value of content marketing”.

Julia Hutchison, COO, CMA: “This is an incredibly exciting time for the association following our recent rebrand which has seen the CMA become a true reflection of the work that our members are now doing across the full spectrum of marketing disciplines from pure play content marketing agencies through to digital agencies and direct marketing agencies. Clare’s appointment will help the association continue to grow from strength to strength and we are looking forward to welcoming her.”
