Classic Rock fanpack pushes album up the charts

Classic Rock’s latest fanpack, published by TeamRock.com ‘Slash featuring Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators’, which includes their brand new album, has enabled World on Fire to enter the OCC (Official Chart Company) at No.7.

This is the first time ever that a fanpack has made such an impact on the music world and contributed to a top 10 album, says TeamRock.com. The placing was achieved through a combination of digital and fanpack sales. Priced at £15.99, sales have hit an all-time high, thanks to WH Smiths and online retailers HMV, Amazon and Townsend.

The format of the fanpack is unique and exclusive to the fans, say the publishers. It contains an album that is not released on general sale in the UK until 13th October plus an in-depth, glossy, full-colour magazine dedicated to every aspect of the artist; how the album was written and recorded, plus an exclusive photo shoot featuring Slash's favourite new guitars, and exclusive fly-on-the-wall pics from inside the studio, a total collector’s edition.

Chris Ingham, Managing Director of TeamRock.com, said: “People are, and will always be interested in Slash. He is one the most significant artists in the world of rock today, and the new album, is one of his finest yet. TeamRock.com believes in giving fans an all-round musical experience and this fanpack demonstrates this in all its glory.”

Danny Corr, Marketing Manager of Roadrunner Records UK, added: “It’s been great to have worked with Team Rock and Classic Rock on the fanpack format for several of our Roadrunner releases. It’s a totally innovative format not only getting fans the album but a brilliantly produced in-depth magazine about the artist and the whole process of making the record. This is the third we’ve released for Slash and it has been the most successful to date – it shows that there is still worth in a really decent physical product.”

Freelance music journalist and writer Mark Blake was commissioned by Classic Rock to be the Editor of the fan pack. Mark is well known for his features in numerous newspapers and music magazines as well as his published books; ‘Pigs Might Fly’ The inside story of Pink Floyd, “Stone Me: The Wit & Wisdom Of Keith Richards", and his more recent; "Is This The Real Life: The Untold Story of Queen”.

The fanpack was released in conjunction with Slash’s own label Dik Hayd, and distributed through Roadrunner Records (Europe, Middle East, Africa, & Latin America). It is the third collaboration between the rock icon and Classic Rock Presents.
