Conde Nast Appoints Digital Director

Following the retirement of Emanuela Pignataro, Condé Nast has restructured its digital operation.

Jamie Jouning (pictured), currently Publisher and Acting Country Manager during Emanuela’s maternity leave, is named Digital Director. He will be the Number One across all aspects of Digital.

In due course, Jamie will announce additions and redeployments within the Department to further strengthen the team.

According to the company, during the past eight months Condé Nast Digital has seen strong advertising and traffic growth across all their sites.  Year to date the total net turnover for the digital division is up 31% compared to 2010, with gross profit up by 32%.  WIRED.CO.UK has seen a growth of 71% in unique users and 31% in page impressions and GLAMOUR.COM is up by 41% and 54% respectively.  Their most established sites continue to attract new users too - GQ.COM shows a growth of 34% in unique users and 40% in page impressions and VOGUE.COM a growth of 18% in unique users (July to December 2010).  VOGUE.COM now has consistently more than one million visitors a month, claims Condé.

Condé Nast Digital Britain has also been “first to market” with iPad editions on several titles, and on Zinio for many more, and has twenty-one iPhone apps scheduled for release during 2011, across seven of the magazine brands, as well as further iPad apps.
