Cosmopolitan’s Self Made Summit returns for 2018

For its second year, Cosmopolitan has extended the Summit to run across a whole weekend, taking over etc.venues County Hall for a series of keynote talks, panel discussions, speed mentoring sessions and networking opportunities.

Taking place from 14-15 April, the event is targeting ambitious, entrepreneurial-minded young women. Already confirmed to participate are Emma Willis, Katie Piper, Tess Holliday, Deliciously Ella, Alice Liveing, plus a mixture of CEO’s, celebrity publicists and tech founders.

Cosmopolitan will also give attendees the chance to win a workspace in one of London’s most inspiring creative hubs, Second Home. Cosmopolitan’s Pitch Palace will see guests pitch their start-up proposal to a panel of expert judges with the winner taking up residence alongside businesses including Kickstart, Taskrabbit and EY.

Tinder will be fully integrated into the experience over the two days, hosting a ‘First Impressions Photo Booth’ where women will be able to have their headshots taken by a professional photographer. Tinder will also be helping guests to make key connections during the networking drinks throughout the weekend. Tinder’s Head of Brand, Rosette Pambakian, will be featured to speak alongside Cosmopolitan’s Editor-in-Chief, Farrah Storr, sharing their wealth of knowledge and expertise with attendees, say the organisers.

Very and Freixenet will also be supporting the Summit, with other brands to be announced in due course.

Victoria Archbold, Managing Director, Events and Sponsorship, Hearst LIVE, says: “Following its hugely successful inaugural year, the Cosmopolitan Self Made Summit returns on an even larger scale with a whole weekend of expertly curated activity. Educational and immersive events that resonate with both our consumers and commercial partners, continue to be a key element of Hearst’s strategy as we bring together respected individuals and brands from across multiple genres. As part of this we are thrilled to have Tinder on board as headline sponsor and look forward to the knowledge sharing they will provide attendees.”

Farrah Storr, Editor-in-Chief of Cosmopolitan, says: “Cosmopolitan’s audience is made up of highly engaged, determined, self-starters. In today’s competitive world, when millennials need to fight more than ever for opportunities, Cosmopolitan’s Self Made Summit is designed to connect them with some of the brightest brains in the business, and we’re delighted to partner with Tinder, a global brand with connection-making at its heart, to help bring this event to life. The Summit is set to be an unmissable event, and will arm our readers with the necessary skills they need to progress.”
