Managing Director Damian Gevertz (pictured) says: “Lots has been happening in the UK cruise market and for us as a business. Cunard had the 3 Queens (Queen Elizabeth, Queen Victoria and Queen Mary 2) leave from Southampton on the same day on June 5th, lots of press attention and posh people (looked so to us anyway) despite the terrible weather. For those of you with Jubilee themed magazine titles or pictures of William, Kate, HM Queen or other royals, they were popular.
On 3rd July, P&O Cruises had all 7 of its ships in at Southampton in one go. The world’s press were in the cruise terminals on the day along with lots of dignitaries (Marco Pierre White is cooking on board).
As part of our partnership with the UK cruise ports, we have developed some funky software that allows us to show a live cruise list of where ships are entering from and leaving in the UK. Built in house as part of our development programme, you can use the list to search for a ship or a brand and see where your titles might be going in a certain week. We use the software for planning.
After 3 years at the Basepoint Centre, we have moved to bigger offices. This will allow us to grow in future years (plus the location is great for motorway access) and be nearer our distribution warehouse as well. We are moving warehouse (please note new address for deliveries from Monday 25th June) in order to allow for greater expansion of space. The new building will allow us 24 hour access, the ability to work in all weathers and a small office on site as well.”
