The awards are expected to capitalise on Dundee’s vibrant games development heritage and future potential in a highly positive way. With the city being one of the UK’s creative clusters, Dundee is the perfect host to showcase and recognise the achievements of the best of the early stage talent within the UK Games Fund community, says DC Thomson Media.
The awards also mean a growth for DC Thomson Media’s portfolio of events, which include the No.1 Amazing Women Awards, The Courier Business Awards and The Menu Food & Drink Awards. It is hoped that the UK Games Funds Awards will create a useful and informative networking event and stimulate ideas and opportunities for collaboration.

The city's game development heritage together with its cultural renaissance this year have been key reasons to choose Dundee as the location for this year’s Awards ceremony.”
Shortlisted nominees will be offered the chance to visit Dundee, a particularly exciting year for the city with the opening of the V&A in September, attend a welcome reception at DC Thomson Media’s headquarters in the city, and join the glamourous awards ceremony at the Apex City Quay Hotel.

Nominations are now open and the Awards ceremony takes place on 14th November 2018.
