Denmaur launches paper calculator at Pub Expo

Denmaur Independent Papers, one of the UK’s leading independent paper merchants, hosted a seminar at the event and also launched its new paper calculator - the latest addition to its “Service Plus” platform.

The new Denmaur paper calculator is a free tool, which enables its customers to have the opportunity to test a number of variables for their existing or proposed publications. All of the paper mathematics and calculations are pre-programmed into the software in order to deliver the required examples, quickly and with a minimum of fuss, says Denmaur.

Discussing the calculator, Peter Sommerville, Denmaur Independent Paper’s Marketing Director, stated “We are investing significantly to enhance our paper management service.” Continuing, he commented, “Denmaur Independent Papers aims to be the first choice supplier of paper to the publishing and print market in the UK. We see our role as a strategic paper partner and facilitator for publisher and end users, providing a valued added resource in these testing times.”

Denmaur, the official paper partner for the Expo for the second year, also staged a seminar session. Entitled “the Perfect Storm,” and featuring Eric Lambert of Reed Business Information, the seminar discussed some of the challenges which the publishing sector faces. These include; increasing levels of advertising being switched online, reducing print runs and paginations, electronic readers, consolidation of print and paper manufacturing and the increasing price of raw materials and energy, all against the background of a struggling economy.

As with many of the seminars at Publishing Expo, it was standing room only in the packed out auditorium, with people three deep locked out peering in from the outside.

Describing the success of the seminars, Julian Townsend, Denmaur Independent Papers Sales Director commented that they were “a wonderful opportunity to engage with new and existing customers, to discuss a range of topical issues and provide helpful purchasing advice.”
