Dennis acquires Land Rover Monthly

Dennis Publishing has announced the acquisition of specialist car magazine and website, Land Rover Monthly.

Currently independently owned by Golden Gate Production Company Ltd, the acquisition of Land Rover Monthly bolsters the Dennis Publishing Motoring portfolio, which includes brands such as Auto Express, evo, Octane and iMotor.

Launched in 1998, Land Rover Monthly is written by enthusiasts for enthusiasts and is aimed at anyone who likes getting their hands dirty with their cherished Land Rovers. Covering the entire spectrum of Land Rovers – from Series 1 Land Rovers to the latest Range Rovers - the magazine and website provides hands-on advice, in-depth reviews and a meeting place for a highly motivated and enthusiastic community. The magazine is also a key title for advertisers of Land Rover accessories and products. Land Rover Monthly has an unaudited circulation of over 25,000 copies.

Land Rover Monthly also hosts the annual LANDROVERmax! show, with over 15,000 attendees and 150 exhibitors taking part in July 2009.

The entire editorial, advertising and events team will be hired as Dennis Publishing employees and will continue to work in their Suffolk premises for the time being.  In time, we will relocate the teams to our Wollaston offices, where they will join the evo and Octane editorial teams. Previous owners Richard Howell-Thomas and Cathie Howell-Thomas will remain in the business as Editorial Director and Associate Publisher respectively.

Land Rover Monthly will become part of Publishing Director Geoff Love’s portfolio.

James Tye (pictured), CEO at Dennis Publishing said: "Land Rover Monthly is exactly the kind of brand Dennis likes to publish. It is a superbly crafted editorial product which supports and enhances a vibrant community of Land Rover owners. With a strong newsstand sale, a well-recognised international show and a very healthy number of ad pages, it will make a strong addition to our growing motoring portfolio. I am delighted to welcome Richard and Cathie Howell-Thomas and their entire team to Dennis Publishing."

Richard Howell-Thomas, Editorial Director of Land Rover Monthly, said: "We are delighted that Land Rover Monthly has joined Dennis Publishing. Over the last eleven years, under independent ownership, LRM has rightfully been regarded as the true Land Rover enthusiast’s favourite magazine. With the publishing strength and expertise that Dennis Publishing can offer, we are looking forward to working together to see both Land Rover Monthly, and our annual show – LANDROVERmax! – continue to grow to reach even more enthusiasts."
