Dennis launches broad content app initiative

Dennis Publishing has announced its partnership with Toura, that will see the large-scale distribution of its premium content across smartphone and tablet devices around the world.

Toura is an app development platform that enables efficient and cost-effective creation and launch of smartphone and tablet-based applications for content creators, already being used by prominent institutions such as the British Library and the University of Oxford.

Dennis says it selected Toura because the company’s technology platform that has proven to be first-in-class for the rapid-creation and deployment of interactive apps, an essential requirement to support the fast-paced publishing world. Toura provides Dennis Publishing with highly advanced tools to be able to quickly develop and deploy apps, publish them across various platforms, and continue to manage the content on an ongoing basis.

Dennis now has the ability to package and disseminate content quickly to smartphone and tablet users looking for quality content for their devices - opening up a new frontier for its wide range of brands, especially its multitude of expert and specialist offerings. 

Dennis will kick-start its Toura initiative with the production of up to twenty new applications based around the most popular subjects in their lifestyle and fitness portfolio. Dennis’ very first application to launch with Toura is Auto Express’s How To Add Value To Your Car, available to download on iTunes and Android Market from [URL] for £0.69 and $0.99. The app will provide consumers with a full range of methods for improving and enhancing their car to make it a better drive, and to improve its resale value. This includes sections on exterior and interior care and general vehicle maintenance. It also recommends products to help you achieve a better sale price on your car, such as the best bumper shine, scratch remover, and roof bars, all selected by Auto Express’s expert editorial team.
