Digital publishing start-up inks deal with global insurer RSA

Better Than Paper, the cloud digital publishing solution start-up, yesterday announced a long-term collaboration with RSA, the global insurer.

This partnership will see Better Than Paper develop the RSA News App – an internal global social magazine for the company’s employees.

Better Than Paper uses innovative software to create bespoke digital magazines by pulling data and content from across the web, quickly and efficiently producing digital magazines, says the company. The News App will be used by RSA to share insurance news. It will also be integrated into the company’s Microsoft’s Yammer platform.

Founded in 2011 by Ashwin Saddul, Better Than Paper went through the Accelerator Academy, a 12-week programme of mentoring and training at the Innovation Warehouse in Farringdon. Since launch, the business has gone on to work with many household brands including EurotaxGlass’s Group, Hiscox, Virgin Media, Barclays and RBS.

Commenting on the launch of the app, Lucy Wren, Group Head of Brand at RSA, said: “When we approached Better Than Paper to help us with this project we wanted something that would drive employee engagement and improve the efficiency of our operations. The news app they created has successfully delivered on both objectives and we’re very pleased with the final outcome.”
