Editorial changes at the Mirror

The Daily Mirror has announced a series of changes to its senior editorial team.

Associate Editor Peter Willis (pictured) has been appointed Deputy Editor of the Mirror.

He has been with the Mirror for 13 years and held a variety of senior executive roles including Features Editor.

Peter, 43, created and continues to mastermind the Daily Mirror's Pride of Britain Awards, one of TV's most popular awards show and now in its 12th year.

Peter will replace Conor Hanna as Deputy Editor, who leaves at Christmas to take up a senior TV executive position with CNN in the US.

Current Night Editor, Jonathan Clark will become Executive Night Editor and Chris Eary, the current Assistant Night Editor, will be made Night Editor.

Daily Mirror Editor, Richard Wallace, said: "I'm delighted to announce these well-deserved promotions.

"They illustrate that the Mirror continues to believe in nurturing and promoting real talent from within.

"Peter is an exceptional journalist who I've worked alongside for many years. I know he will be a great success in his new role.

"I'd also want to thank Conor Hanna for his fantastic contribution and commitment in his time at the Mirror. He has all our very best wishes for the future."
