Electronics Weekly completes migration to ADvance audience development platform

Metropolis Business Media’s electronics industry magazine, Electronics Weekly, is now live on Abacus e-Media’s ADvance platform.

ADvance is Abacus e-Media’s cloud-based audience development platform, designed to support all aspects of modern multi-channel publishing. By combining the core functions of traditional subscription and circulation fulfilment systems with a modern day need to manage digital and online channels through e-commerce, ADvance provides the tools for rapid product development and fulfillment via a single web-based platform, says Abacus e-Media.

The fully integrated audience database facilitates the collection of detailed demographic data - including subscriptions, purchase history and web activity - to provide a complete customer view of a user record which is ideal for detailed audience segmentation. According to Abacus e-Media, ADvance is able to support a truly data-driven product development cycle capturing real-time metrics captured from both online and offline customer transactions. The ADvance platform has been specifically designed to integrate effortlessly with existing business platforms such as finance and CMS systems, making it truly a versatile system.

Electronics Weekly has been a leading source of information for the UK electronics industry for over 50 years. The website is one of the UK’s leading online resources for electronics professionals, providing news, analysis, features, business stories, a wide selection of jobs and new products. Electronics Weekly is owned by Metropolis International, who are currently in the process of migrating a further 16 business titles onto the ADvance platform.

Using ADvance’s e-commerce functionality, Electronics Weekly will be able to control their registration, re-verification, and paid for subscription packages for their print and digital editions. Furthermore, with the business intelligence and analytics tool, they will be able to utilise demographic data, such as job title, and subscription information to identify specific behavioural patterns. This data will provide powerful insights for the rapid developing of new and existing products (both on and offline) along with the ability to highly target and accurately market to their audience. Electronics Weekly will use Abacus’s bureau services for customer services and fulfillment.
