Evo and Mercedes provide interactive 360 view

Dennis Publishing’s evo magazine, the monthly magazine devoted to the most desirable drivers’ cars, has linked up with Mercedes-Benz to promote the new C-Class Estate Sport on the magazine’s iPad application.

The campaign will see the first ever interactive 360 degree view of the interior of the car, say the publishers.

In a deal worth over £80k, the executive car manufacturer has taken a lock-out on advertising for the April and May issues of the evo iPad app. Dennis Publishing worked closely with Mercedes-Benz to achieve a bespoke ad campaign for the iPad app, which includes custom photography and a TV-quality film of the car, all done by the in-house film team, Dennis Films.

The campaign will see three teasers appear on the iPad edition of the car magazine, which showcase ten of the best improvements to the C-Class series with pixilated images that reveal the modified areas of the car when the reader taps the screen.

A bespoke advertorial was also created by the Dennis team, which allows second to none quality of viewing of the C-Class Estate Sport. In a media first, evo readers can experience the car as they navigate around the inside of the car at their leisure, with an interactive 360 degree panorama view of the interior.

Jonathan Kitchen, Commercial Director at Dennis Publishing, explains: “We are constantly pushing the boundaries of innovation for our advertisers with our cross-platform brands such as evo, and the lock-out with Mercedes-Benz has really allowed us to demonstrate how we can create exciting and forward thinking advertising solutions on new platforms such as the iPad.”
