GNM launches Guardian Select Video

Guardian News & Media (GNM) has announced the launch of Guardian Select Video - a private syndication portal that distributes and monetises its digital video portfolio to the Guardian Select publisher network.

Created with Rightster, the video distribution and monetisation solutions provider, the portal offers Guardian Select publishers a single platform to access Guardian videos, and its built-in embeddable player provides seamless integration of Guardian advertising. The branded portal provides the Guardian with complete control and visibility of all content distributed from the guardian.co.uk website and allows Guardian Select to drive new revenue streams by offering video to publishers.

Guardian Select is a collection of 150 blogs and independent websites across the world, curated and editorially approved by the Guardian. The sites, grouped into ten content verticals, reach over 23 million people around the world, allowing advertisers to extend their reach across the web by offering a simple, secure and effective way of targeting quality online audiences, says the Guardian.

Matt Gilbert, Head of Business Development, Guardian News & Media, said: "We are delighted to announce the launch of Guardian Select Video. Building on our existing partnership with Rightster enables us to achieve seamless integration with existing video workflows and further enhance the Guardian Select proposition. By accessing the Guardian's award-winning video content, Guardian Select publishers can offer an engaging experience to their audiences, increase earnings and further enrich their content."

Charlie Muirhead, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Rightster, said: "Rightster is proud to be a digital distribution partner for the Guardian as it continues to be a global leader in multimedia content. Rightster's advanced technology solutions will provide the Guardian with the opportunity to exploit new revenue streams by distributing and monetising content from its own website, enabling Guardian Select to attract more viewers and grow its audience online."
