Go Girl’s magazine – secret sealed at Polestar

Go Girl’s bumper half-term issue (on sale 28th October) includes an extra 16-page section packed with Celeb gossip and secrets. These extra pages have been produced by Polestar Chromoworks as a special sealed section and inserted in the magazine.

It’s a Go Girl first, and the first time the publisher, Egmont Magazines, has used this type of added value feature.

Sarah Colley, Production Manager at Egmont Magazines, says: “We are delighted with the results and are sure our readers will be too, as it adds a degree of excitement for them as they open it.”

She continues: “It had been a long-held wish of our creative team to have a sealed secret section and in the past we’ve seen similar examples but all on perfect-bound products. To incorporate this feature into a saddle-stitched magazine, the folding is vital as the first fold is on the long dimension of the sheet and this is particularly tricky.

“I sent out diagrams to a number of suppliers and only Polestar came back and said that it was possible and that they could do it! We would like to thank everyone at Polestar Chromoworks for sharing our dream and turning it into a reality!”

Polestar Key Account Director June Waters adds: “Polestar Chromoworks has the facilities in place to accommodate a wide range of value-added features which, coupled with its reputation for customer care and quality, place it among the leading commercial web offset companies in the UK. The opportunity to work with Egmont on such an exciting project was particularly rewarding and we are pleased the outcome has been so successful.”
