Guardian invites developers to hack weekend

Guardian News & Media (GNM) has called on developers to sign up to (H)activate – a hack weekend being run on 18 and 19 June as part of this year's Activate Summit in London.

The Guardian and Rewired State have partnered with Nokia and BlueVia to hold the event at Kings Place to help develop the next generation of web and mobile apps that address social change in both the UK and across the world. The (H)activate weekend will take place in advance of the Activate Summit on 22 June at which many of the world's leading thinkers and doers will discuss how we build a more connected and collaborative planet.

The best hack, chosen by a panel of judges, will have the opportunity to present at the Activate Summit in front of an audience of more than 300 delegates and speakers like Ory Okolloh from Google, Alec Ross from the US State Department and Michael Birch, founder of Bebo and Monkey Inferno.

(H)activate will be held across the weekend of June 18th and 19th at Guardian HQ - Kings Place, 90 York Way, London N1 9GU.

Guardian Activate New York was held in NYC's Paley Center for Media on Thursday 28 April. Guardian Activate London will be held on Wednesday 22 June.
