Gurgle.com launches print magazine

gurgle.com has announced the launch of its first print magazine ‘Gurgle’, in partnership with independent publishing and events company, Media 10.

The magazine has, say the publishers, a unique and fresh feel, celebrating modern mums who want to know about caring for their babies or toddlers, but also want parenting to be fun. Packed with fashion, parenting issues and real and celebrity mums, Gurgle magazine is an irresistible treat for mums who want their own lives to be as happy as their baby’s.

The first edition of the new bi-monthly magazine will be published in May 2011 and will be sold exclusively through Mothercare stores, Early Learning Centres and via subscription on the gurgle.com website.

200,000 copies of the launch issue will be distributed nationwide, with 175,000 copies going to stores and 25,000 to on-line shoppers. The magazine will be sold for around £2 with the aim of providing something distinct from existing parenting titles, by focusing on the lighter side of parenting recognising the needs of modern mums to experience something which is fun, intelligent and fashion-forward as well as being a source of information.

The baby and parenting site, owned by Mothercare, eventually hopes to roll out the proposition globally to some of the 49 countries which Mothercare currently operates in.

Andrew Tyler, MD of gurgle.com, commented: “Today’s mums don’t just want to be dictated to about raising their children, they want a fun, informative and fashion-forward magazine – that is what we hope to achieve with the new publication. It will provide a new opportunity for Mothercare and ELC to engage with their customers as well as offering something genuinely new in the parenting magazine market.”

Lee Newton, MD at Media 10 added: “We’ve discovered a gap in the market for a modern mother and baby magazine that looks and reads like a stylish glossy. Gurgle is the magazine that mums have told us they want: vibrant and positive, sophisticated yet accessible. It delivers everything they need to know about caring for their babies and toddlers – while inspiring them to have fun and to feel and look great in the process.”
