Gwyneth Paltrow and goop guest edit December issue of Red

For the first time in the 15-year history of Red, the magazine has been guest edited. Hollywood star, Gwyneth Paltrow and her team at lifestyle site, goop.com, have worked alongside the Red editorial team to produce a special Christmas issue.

According to the publishers: the unique collaboration sees goop.com guest editing both the magazine and Redonline.co.uk. In the December issue, goop shares its pick of French pharmacy treats, travel know-how and the best bedtime reading. The team also chooses stunning festive gifts from goop’s exclusive designer collaborations, as well as lighter, healthier alternatives to traditional Christmas recipes.

Gwyneth Paltrow gives a rare, candid interview busting apart the judgements cast on women as they juggle the work/life balance and discussing her plans to expand the goop brand.

The innovative partnership continues with Redonline.co.uk running a dedicated goop week starting 11th November. Users will be treated to exclusive goop fashion, beauty and food edits, an interview with goop collaborator, jeweller Clare Vivier, and goop’s guide to the weekend. Redonline.co.uk will also be hosting an exclusive film, inviting readers behind the scenes of Gwyneth’s December cover shoot.

Goop has great synergy with Red. It’s the perfect brand for our first guest edit,” said Sarah Bailey, Editor-in-Chief of Red. “Goop truly reflects Red's ethos. It’s about curating and celebrating the best things in life. Gwyneth Paltrow also shares our philosophy of giving women the tools to help life be a little bit more calm, productive and fabulous.”

“Goop collaborates every week with some of the world’s most famous designers. Why not take that same successful model and apply it to content?”, said Seb Bishop, CEO at goop. “With discerning editorial curation, we are proud to have collaborated with the great team at Red to merge our two publications for the December issue”.

“Our collaboration with goop is a real coup for the brand,” said Ella Dolphin, Publishing Director of Red. “Its compelling and emotionally tuned-in content talks directly to our readers. We are really looking forward to bringing this innovative issue of Red to the newsstand, what a perfect treat for Christmas.”

The December issue of Red is on sale 6th November.
