Harrods Magazine uses special cover

Each year, Harrods publishes a range of catalogues and brochures, as well as an exclusive in-house magazine. The June edition of Harrods Magazine used a special cover to celebrate the Queen’s Jubilee.

The issue celebrates fashion and food fit for a Queen and contains an elegant collaboration with the Victoria and Albert Museum.

The June issue was finished by Celloglas, using a matt and gloss varnish combination that was applied in one pass of their Heidelberg twin coating machine.

Hayley Ellis Production Manager at Harrods Publishing Commented “We have been working with Celloglas for a while on various different covers and their wide range of finishes available provides us with a fantastic pallet of finishing possibilities to work with. With this month’s cover we wanted to make the “Long Live the Queen” statement look like it had been revealed from under the glossy cover and the glossy paper had been ripped away to reveal matt paper underneath. The finishes that we have used really work well and we have maintained our classic, high quality cover look, whilst adding a clever contrasting finish”.

Steve Middleton Sales Director at Celloglas commented “The Heidelberg twin coater runs at 15,000 sheets an hour and allows customers to apply two finishes in one pass. The Cellocover range of finishes allows customers to be creative without having to spend the kind of budget that would normally only be considered for a special edition”.

60,000 copies were finished for the main Harrods Magazine.
