Haymarket appoints new CTO

Haymarket Media Group today announced that Martin Gee, currently responsible for Technology Delivery of Video-on-demand & Digital Services, Audience Insight and Business Intelligence at Channel 4, will join its management team as Chief Technology Officer (CTO).

Martin will be responsible for ensuring that technology across the group supports Haymarket’s business strategy, identifying and responding to current and emerging digital opportunities and challenges.

Martin joined Channel 4 in 2007 initially being responsible for technology and business change within Sales and shortly afterwards took on Business Intelligence. Most recently he has been responsible for the many websites surrounding the television channels that Channel 4 operate, and has been accountable for leading the technology work for the Channel’s “big data” programme supporting the whole “Viewer Relationship Management” strategy. Martin currently holds overall responsibility for delivering the strategic technology update to 4oD, and managed the technology delivery of the new All 4 digital proposition across VoD platforms, whilst continuing to manage delivery within the audience insight and business intelligence areas.

Martin has an MA in Engineering from St. John’s College, Cambridge and a postgraduate Diploma in Computer Science also from Cambridge.

Martin will start at Haymarket as CTO in September and report to Group CEO, Kevin Costello.
