Haymarket appoints Research Director

Haymarket Media Group - home of What Car?, Pistonheads, Campaign and MyCME - has appointed Laurence Bird to the newly-created role of Research Director.

Bird will report to Bob McDowell, Director of Strategy, Planning and Change, and will be responsible for Research Strategy in the UK.

Bird is tasked with helping Haymarket to become an insight leader in its chosen markets - primarily motoring, marcomms and medical. She will help with the active promotion of insight, interpretation of findings and the use of data to spot business opportunities.

Bird joins Haymarket from AutoTrader, where she headed up the Insight team. Previous to that she held positions at The Walt Disney Company, the Internet Advertising Bureau, CNN International, comScore and MarketShare.

Bird will take up her post in June.
