Haymarket launches new charity partnerships

Haymarket this week launched its new UK charity partnerships with Teenage Cancer Trust and Shooting Star Chase.

The two-year partnerships will see Haymarket pledge £45,000 per year through a series of individual, team and company fundraising events and initiatives.

Kevin Costello, CEO, Haymarket Media Group says: “I am tremendously proud that we are partnering with Teenage Cancer Trust and leading children’s hospice, Shooting Star Chase. For the first time, our 1200 staff in the UK will be joining together in support of these charities and the vital work they do.”

Siobhan Dunn, Chief Executive, Teenage Cancer Trust says: “What’s really special about this partnership is that Haymarket’s great portfolio of brands can also help us speak to many new people about our vital work with young cancer patients and their families. We’re really looking forward to working with Haymarket staff to not only raise lots of money, but to also raise awareness of the issues young people with cancer face.”

David Burland, CEO, Shooting Star Chase says: “We are thrilled to have been chosen as Haymarket’s local charity partners for the next two years, building on the strong relationship we already have with the company. We are delighted to be working together and we will aim to create a lasting impact by raising awareness and vital funds to help us care for babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions, and their families.”

Teenage Cancer Trust is the only UK charity dedicated to improving the quality of life and chances of survival for young people with cancer aged between 13 and 24. The charity funds and builds specialist units in NHS hospitals and provides dedicated staff, bringing young people together so they can be treated by teenage cancer experts in the best place for them.

Shooting Star Chase support babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions, as well as providing vital support to their families. They run two children’s hospices, in Guildford and Hampton, and offer day care, symptom management, end-of-life care, bereavement care and a comprehensive range of therapies and support groups for the whole family - all free of charge.
