Kevin Costello: “Adding Bay to our portfolio couldn’t have come at a better time.”

According to Haymarket, Bay Publishing Ltd. will sit within Haymarket Business Media (HBM) and will benefit from the division’s expertise in providing audiences and clients with multi-channel print and digital content and media solutions. One key development will be to connect clients with the newly launched Audience Labs team, which has been recently created to offer customers lead generation opportunities, says the publisher. Following Haymarket’s acquisition, Bay Publishing’s global client base will have the opportunity to source the leads they need to grow their businesses via Audience Labs’ ability to create tailored content, customised marketing, webinars and more.

Bay Publishing was co-founded in 2002 by directors Nick Limm and Nigel Fellows. Concentrating solely on the personal protection, health & safety and process emissions control industries, their international magazines are highly respected within their chosen sectors. The readership and customer base Bay Publishing already enjoys will now benefit from additional support for client needs, alongside continued trusted, expert content.

Speaking about the acquisition, Nigel Fellows, co-founder and director said: “Having built Bay Publishing for the past twenty years, it was so important to find the right company that will keep the authenticity of Bay while creating a needed new offering to the wealth of audiences we serve. We have definitely found that with Haymarket. Its global presence allows our clients to gain enhanced growth opportunities, build new lead-generation and content products and benefit from the established capabilities Haymarket already has.

Co-founder, Nick Limm added: “The Haymarket team made this decision an easy one for us. With their ownership, Bay Publishing can keep the top-quality journalism we have always been proud of, while building on the opportunities we know our clients want. The next natural step for Bay Publishing is an enhanced digital transformation and we are excited to see Haymarket take it to the next level.”

Kevin Costello, chief executive at Haymarket Media Group commented: “Adding Bay to our portfolio couldn’t have come at a better time. It plays to our digital transformation strengths and Haymarket’s known audience model, plus we are experts in producing brands in multiple channels. We are eager to respond to Bay’s audience and client needs and it aligns well with our ambitious growth plans in the coming months too.

Donna Murphy, deputy managing director at Haymarket Business Media concluded: “Today’s announcement means Bay’s expert and significant client base will benefit from a suite of new marketing products and services, as well as amplifying lead gen capabilities. I’ve really enjoyed working with Nick and Nigel throughout the process and I am excited for everything we have planned for Bay Publishing this year and beyond.”

Haymarket says the existing team at Bay Publishing will continue to work from their Weymouth, UK office, as part of the wider Haymarket team.
