Highlander offers new HTML5 training courses

Technical training company Highlander has recently added a number of new courses to its curriculum, to accomodate the rapidly growing demand for HTML5 skills.

HTML5 has attracted a lot of attention over the last couple of years, not least due to the rapid growth in popularity of mobile and tablet devices.  Whether you are talking about the iPhone or iPad, Android devices or desktop browsers, HTML5 support is increasingly there and you don't need to download plugins to use it.

Andy Gardiner, Managing Director of Highlander comments "Forecasts suggest there will be one billion HTML5 capable phones sold in 2013, and most of the latest desktop browsers now include HTML5 support to some extent. That's a lot of devices you can support without forcing people to download plugins and without having to learn programming languages like, C or Java."

"HTML5 is now used by many of the major technology companies like Apple, Adobe, Microsoft and Google, and you can use it for a whole range of things from creating online games through to playing video and audio. This is only going to get more interesting as the technology matures and more and more people adopt it."

With over 15 years experience delivering technical training courses, Highlander claims it was the first training company in the UK to start offering HTML5 courses back in 2010. In addition to its existing 2 day HTML5 Getting Started course the company has now added a 3 day Advanced HTML5 course, and a 5 day HTML5 Bootcamp which incorporate both the Getting Started and Advanced courses as well as extensive online video tutorials.

The company has seen growing demand for HTML5 skills, with major organisations in publishing, finance, retail and education all investing in developing HTML5 skills.

The HTML5 courses are being offered from the companies facilities in London and York, as well as at client sites throughout the UK.
