i to be official media partner of Politics Festival

Johnston Press has announced that its national daily title i will be the official media partner of the first UK-wide Politics Festival, which take place at Kings Place, London, from 23rd to 25th June 2017.

The festival, which lands on the first anniversary of the historic Brexit referendum, will comprise a weekend of pro-politics talks, debates, discussions and plenty of politics-related entertainment, says Johnston Press.

Attendees confirmed so far include Michael Gove, Ed Balls, Nick Clegg, Ed Miliband, Nicky Morgan, Harriet Harman, Tim Montgomerie, Craig Oliver, Owen Jones, Polly Toynbee, Kirsty Laing, Robert Peston, Justin Webb and many more.

i columnist Ian Birrell said: “With Brexit, the rise of Donald Trump, the dramatic elections taking place in parts of Europe, there is a need for discussion, explanation, analysis beyond social media and the relatively short political interviews on broadcasting outlets.

“As political journalists we have worked with politicians for several decades and recognise that they are much more interesting than the way they are often portrayed.

“We want to discover more about them at this pivotal junction in history.”

Zoë Jeyes, Deputy Managing Director of Kings Place said “We are excited to be producing and presenting The Politics Festival, which could not come at a more pertinent time. We are thrilled that i will be acting as official media partner to bring the conversations of the event to an even wider public."
