iCreate Magazine celebrates ten years

iCreate, Imagine Publishing’s creative Apple magazine, this week celebrates the tenth anniversary of its first issue.

The magazine’s unique approach to offering practical creative Apple advice and tutorials has been hugely popular with Apple fans the world over, says Imagine Publishing.

Since its launch in May 2003, iCreate has been read by over 6 million people, and in recent years iCreate has flourished as a true multimedia brand spanning print, online and digital/mobile publishing. Its licensed editions are also market leaders in France and Benelux.

iCreate has been at the forefront of Apple coverage in the last decade, chronicling the launch of the iPhone, iPad, MacBook, iLife creative suite, iWork and iCloud. In that time Apple reached 50 billion app downloads on the iTunes App Store, sold 140 million iPads and 355 million iPhones worldwide. iCreate has published some 14,924 pages and written around 6.4 million words, offering over 3,000 useful step-by-step guides to its loyal readers.

iCreate Editor Jonathan Gordon predicts a bright future for the brand as a print title and in digital form. “Reaching a milestone like this is very special,” he said. “In the last ten years iCreate has changed and evolved alongside Apple itself, adopting the same commitment to innovation and creativity in developing into a global brand. We’re all immensely proud of reaching our tenth birthday with so much more to come for the next decade.”

“Ten years ago we could see the shifting change in computing from tech user to consumer, someone who really wanted to be creative with their Mac without the jargon,” Imagine Group Creative Director and iCreate founder Mark Kendrick added. “Apple knew this and responded with the launch of its iMac and iLife suite of products. Ten years on, and iCreate has never seemed more relevant. It’s something I am incredibly proud of, and long may it continue.”
