These journals cover the rapidly expanding areas of optics and photonics, which are a timely addition as this year marks the 60th anniversary of the invention of the laser.
Inspec currently indexes Advanced Photonics and High Power Laser Science and Engineering, two journals which CLP co-publishes with other organisations. This new partnership will expand coverage to include indexing of content published in CLP journals, including Photonics Research (co-published with The Optical Society, OSA); Chinese Optics Letters; Chinese Journal of Lasers; Acta Optica Sinica; and Laser & Optoelectronics Progress.
The addition of these journals from CLP will expand the optics and photonics research that is indexed in Inspec.

Chinese Laser Press (CLP), established by Shanghai Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics and Chinese Optical Society in 2009, provides readers an optical publishing platform with global influence.
Xiaofeng Wang, Chief editor of CLP, said: “The partnership will greatly enhance the visibility of CLP journals and provide more high quality information on optics and photonics for Inspec’s worldwide users.”
The CLP journals will join over 4,500 international journals in Inspec, selected for their specific relevance to the fields of engineering and science. As part of the Inspec database, the journals’ content will be discoverable to a global audience of research universities, corporate research teams, governments and patent offices, says the IET.
