Imagine launches 9 new iPad apps

Imagine Publishing has announced the release of its latest range of mobile apps created with technology partner PixelMags.

This highlights the company’s focus and commitment to digital publishing throughout 2010 and into its further push onto new digital devices in 2011.

Live on the iTunes App Store, the new apps are: Mac Tips, Xbox 360 Cheats & Tips, PS3 Cheats & Tips, PowerStation, Tips & Apps: iPhone, Tips & Apps: iPad, Photo Tips & Tricks, Photoshop Tips & Tricks, and Web Design Tips.

The apps, all priced at £1.19 ($1.99), remain focused on the technology markets that Imagine enjoys strong positions in with its print portfolio of magazines, including Apple, photography, videogames and Photoshop. Once downloaded, each app comes free with one entire collection of articles, and they also allow access to a wealth of additional paid-for tutorials, features and reviews from Imagine’s print publications and its bookazine portfolio – much of which is now unavailable in its original form and highly sought-after, say the publishers.

With the addition of this new range of iPad and iPhone apps, Imagine Publishing now has 29 apps on the Apple App Store – more than any other publisher, they claim – covering its entire portfolio of magazines and popular bookazines. More are set to follow in 2011.

“Imagine is the only sizeable UK publisher to have already launched its entire portfolio onto new devices like the iPad and iPhone,” said Managing Director Damian Butt (pictured). “We don’t fear the digital publishing revolution; we embrace it wholeheartedly, because we recognise there is a vast untapped worldwide audience who appreciate our enduring magazine brands and who are prepared to subscribe to our high quality specialist content.

These new PixelMag apps are the perfect way to reach that audience instantly, and we are already seeing significant downloads and revenues – and we’ve only just begun.”
