Imagine launches Digital Artist

Imagine Publishing has announced the launch of Digital Artist, a new magazine dedicated to the “incredible” work produced by the digital art community.

Packed with high quality artwork that spans all styles, genres and software, Digital Artist is a one-stop resource for inspiration and instruction, says the publisher. Fledgling artists will benefit from the in-depth tutorials that explain how to achieve certain looks or use specific tools, and the special ‘cheat’ tips are a great way of learning about an art style.

To balance the hands-on help, Digital Artist is a feast for the eyes. Each issue gathers together the finest CG work being produced in the form of artist interviews, gallery areas or spotlights on up-and- coming artists. The Community section is where readers can discover what projects artists have been working on, what good art sites are around and where they can go for free resources.

“The digital art community has developed into a vibrant hive of creativity,” says Jo Cole, Editor in Chief. “We wanted to create a magazine that reflected this and so Digital Artist was born. It is the only magazine that looks at all styles of digital art being produced by the community, keeping each issue fresh and dynamic. Digital Artist offers readers plenty of help for improving their own work, plus loads of opportunity to try out new ideas.”

To help readers expand their knowledge, Digital Artist covers all art software. In addition to the heavyweights of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and Corel Painter, readers will also learn about programs such as ArtRage, SketchBook Pro and iPhone painting apps.

To round the experience off, readers can enjoy a free art resource CD each issue that is loaded with brushes, textures and video tutorials. There is also a companion website at www.digitalartistdaily.com. People can sign on to set up a free online gallery, find out about what is happening in the magazine and chat with other digital artists.
