Independent.co.uk surpasses 50m unique users mark in September

The Independent celebrates its highest figures ever across all key UK and global metrics and i100 audience leaps 25% in its second month.

The Independent says:

• Unique monthly users (global): Broke the 50m mark for the first time ever, hitting 53m – up 15.4% month-on-month and 78% year-on-year

• Average daily unique users (global): 2.4m, up 12.8% month-on-month, and 74% year-on-year

• Page views (global): 184m, up 5.1% month-on-month and 60% year-on-year

• UK unique monthly users: 18.3m, up 5.5% month-in-month and 57% year-on-yea

• The pioneering i100 (audited within the main Independent figure but not broken out on the ABC certificate), recorded 2.3m monthly unique users, up a massive 25.3% from 1.9m in August. It was launched on 17 July, and also has a growing and engaged social audience with more than 34,000 Twitter followers.

• On independent.co.uk, new global traffic records were set across a number of content channels including News, Life & Style, Travel, Property, and Money.

• Record video views were also recorded on independent.co.uk, with numbers up 32% month-on-month, marking the fifth consecutive month of strong growth.

• Mobile traffic climbed 6% month-on-month increase in unique users accessing independent.co.uk on a tablet or mobile: 29m users generating 72.8m page views (41% of total), compared with 69m in August.
