Informa’s US CEO to retire

Informa plc, the international publishing, business intelligence and events group, this week announced that Kenneth B. Bohlin, President & CEO of Informa Financial Information Inc (IFI) and Informa USA Inc, will take his long-planned retirement at the end of 2014.

Under the new Group operating structure, effective from 1 January 2015, all of Ken’s responsibilities for the IFI businesses will transfer to Patrick Martell, who was recently appointed Chief Executive of Informa’s Business Intelligence Division.

Ken Bohlin (60) first joined Informa in 1984 and has served as Chief Executive of IFI since its launch in 1987. Under his leadership, the business has grown into a global business serving the majority of the world’s financial institutions, with annual revenue of well over $100m. Moreover, the scale of Informa’s wider North American operations has grown significantly since Ken became Chief Executive of Informa USA.

Stephen A. Carter, Group Chief Executive, said: “On behalf of Informa, I would like to thank Ken for the significant contribution he has made to the Group, and wish him well in his retirement. He has built a robust financial information business with strong market positions, and helped to expand Informa’s presence in North America and further afield.”

Ken Bohlin, Informa USA’s President & CEO, said: “One could not be more satisfied and content than I am as I leave Informa and enter retirement. I would not change a single thing about my 30 years at the Group. It is a great company, with scores of talented people and a great portfolio of assets, both in the US and around the world, which will no doubt continue to grow and prosper. I feel both privileged and proud to have played a role in the group’s success over the past three decades and I wish Stephen, Patrick and all of my Informa colleagues nothing but the best going forward.”
