IPC Media boosts digital team with key appointments

IPC Media digital director Neil Robinson has announced two key appointments within IPC Digital.

Tara Hamilton-Whitaker (pictured top) is promoted to the role of digital development director, reporting directly to Neil. Cathy Ma (pictured below) is promoted to the role of head of Social Media, reporting to Tara.

Most recently digital programme director, in her new position Tara will retain her role overseeing the core technology development programme, social media mobile product development programmes and digital capital investment programme across the company. She will additionally work closely with Neil and IPC Media’s divisional managing directors to identify and deliver key strategic revenue generation programmes and initiatives.

Cathy is promoted from her role as social media product manager. In her new role as head of social media, Cathy will build on IPC’s social media successes over the past 18 months. She will work closely with Tara and the divisional brand teams to leverage social media technologies, partnerships and marketing techniques to drive brand affinity and audience engagement.

Neil says: “These promotions are about recognising two important strategic pillars of IPC Digital strategy – social media and the diversification of our revenue mix. Tara has lead a whole host of initiatives in and around our technology group IPC Digital over the past two years, but it has been clear she has much to offer the wider business. This promotion is in recognition of her ability to innovate and accelerate opportunities within our brand teams, and is much deserved.

Tara says: “I’m delighted to take on this new role and am very much looking forward to working more closely with Neil and the Board to identify, refine and deliver new and exciting revenue generation opportunities over the coming months.

“Cathy has made a significant impact to IPC over the last 18 months, and has put herself right at the heart of shaping, promoting and supporting the adoption of social media across IPC. I expect her to thrive in this new role over the coming year as she expands our effectiveness of everything social.”
