Recognised for her bold decision-making, Rosenfeld was closely followed in the ranking by Güler Sabanci of Sabanci Holding and Indra Nooyi of PepsiCo.
The rest of the top 10 was rounded out by Ursula Burns of Xerox, Andrea Jung of Avon Products, Ellen Kullman of DuPont, Dong Mingzhu of Gree Electric, Angela Ahrendts of Burberry, Yoshiko Shinohara of Temp Holdings and Chanda Kochhar of ICICI Bank.
The third annual rankings are part of the FT’s multi-platform Women at the Top initiative which includes editorial reports in the newspaper and online as well as an annual international conference.
The conference was held at The Peninsula Hotel in Shanghai and was followed by dinner at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel. It brought together more than 160 global thought leaders and decision-makers to discuss and celebrate women’s contribution to development and growth in business, and their inspirational legacy as innovators and influencers in the workplace and beyond. This year’s conference was chaired by John Ridding, chief executive of the Financial Times.

This year’s rankings featured a growing number of Asian delegates and speakers, which is testament to the vital role women play in the public and private sectors across the world,” said Mr Ridding.
The full ranking of FT’s Top 50 Women in World Business was unveiled this week in a special magazine supplement with the FT’s global editions. There is also a Chinese microsite featuring translated stories from the FT editorial series as well as original content and the Top 50 Women in Business ranking.
