iSUBSCRiBE marks 10th birthday with new initiatives

UK online magazine subscription business, iSUBSCRiBE, yesterday celebrated its 10th anniversary and announced a number of new partnerships, sales channels and business initiatives.

The 10 year anniversary comes during a period of substantial sales growth for the company, having transacted over 725,000 subscriptions and delivered over 10 million magazines to UK homes since inception, says the company.

The company also announced it has recently been awarded a number of Publisher brand specific Micro site deals. Publishers who have already launched sites with iSUBSCRiBE include Immediate Media, with more due before Christmas. Fully designed and developed by iSUBSCRiBE, the Micro sites offer publishers the opportunity to fully maximise their online sales potential.

Steve Price, Managing Director, iSUBSCRiBE UK said, “We are really pleased to be able to offer publishers our online marketing expertise through the development of the new Micro sites initiative. Publishers will benefit from complete transparency, data ownership, reduced costs and fully optimised mobile sites, whilst generating more subscriptions from their online activities. We expect this service to become very popular with our publisher clients in 2014.”

Representing over 663 publishers and showcasing more than 3,000 magazine and newspaper titles in the UK, the main iSUBSCRiBE website has recently gone through a significant refresh with a major updated design to over 3,000 titles pages.

Andrew Burge, Founder and CEO of iSUBSCRiBE globally, said: “Along with the recent unveiling of the Mobile site, we will shortly launch an iOS digital platform in order to offer digital subscriptions, digital single issues and print/digital bundles on behalf of publishers. This will essentially make iSUBSCRiBE the first site in the world to offer an aggregated service on behalf of over 99% of publishers by offering both digital and print subscriptions.”

He added: “Lying behind our website developments are some fundamental shifts in consumer behaviour. First, it is clear from sales trends that many magazine buyers are moving into subscriptions. Linked to that, consumers want more of a newsagent feel to a site like iSUBSCRiBE, where they can browse and compare and spend time rather than just blast in and out for a quick purchase. We are a specialist shop with range, service and personality, not a bare discount warehouse.”

According to the company, iSUBSCRiBE currently has over 400,000 registered active UK customers and attracts over 1.5 million unique visitors annually. Across the 3 countries that iSUBSCRiBE operates in (UK, AU, NZ), the company has sold over AUD$200 million worth of magazine subscriptions which equates to 40 million magazines delivered by iSUBSCRiBE to customers around the world since (the Australian operation commenced business) in December 2000.
