Jewish Chronicle launches JC North

This week, the Jewish Chronicle (JC) launches JC North, a “vibrant, local and superbly written edition”, designed specifically for the Jewish communities in Glasgow, Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester and Newcastle.

Distributors COMAG say: “On sale from 28 May, JC North gives readers in the North everything they need from a Jewish newspaper: local theatre, local fashion, local food, local music, local business, local sport — it’s all there!  And it’s in the paper with the most sparkling writers, the most comprehensive analysis of national Jewish news, the most incisive coverage of Israel and the Middle East, the best Jewish business news and the funniest columnists.

The JC is, above everything else, a community newspaper. That’s why the publication introduced its Community supplement — which is literally and metaphorically at the heart of the paper.  The JC has always looked inwards to its community and outwards to the world beyond.  It’s that combination which has made it the world’s oldest and most well-known Jewish newspaper.

By creating this mix, the JC team offers a product that readers regard a must-have — a paper that stimulates, amuses, informs and entertains.

The world's most influential Jewish newspaper, the London-based Jewish Chronicle has a 160-year history of editorial independence.  Its news and opinion pages reflect the entire spectrum of Jewish religious, social and political thought from left to right, Orthodox to secular, while its arts and lifestyle coverage includes film, theatre, travel, cookery and youth and singles events.”
