Job ads boosted with video

Publishers with online jobs boards can now profit from applicants' increasing use of video, with VideoBuilder Recruit, from Video Direct.

Videobuilder Recruit is an innovative video CV add-on from Video Direct. It can be added to the application process of individual job adverts as a premium upgrade. Candidates then use it to enhance a job application with video content specifically targeted at the role they are applying for. Advertisers receive the recorded video embedded in a publisher or jobs board branded email alongside the formal application.

According to Video Direct, increasing numbers of candidates use video to boost their chances of interview although most content is generic. Videobuilder Recruit allows candidates to record video content specific to the job they are applying for, making it more relevant for the advertiser and therefore more effective. It also allows publishers and jobs boards to maintain control of the production and distribution of candidate video, allowing them to add value to their own products and improve the way their advertisers receive applications.

"We know from research that almost all recruitment advertisers are enthusiastic about accepting video from candidates; it reduces the time and therefore costs of personnel selection. Most, however, want video content that is specific to the position being advertised and below a minute in length. By adding Videobuilder Recruit to jobs boards, publishers can control and standardise the way video is produced and distributed in a way that benefits the advertiser, and ultimately the candidate”, said Richard Counsell, Managing Director of Video Direct.

Videobuilder Recruit is designed to help recruit ad sales teams make money from video. It joins Video Direct’s other video services and technology for classified and display ad sales teams.
