Justine Bellavita appointed Editor-in-Chief, Vogue International

Justine Bellavita has been appointed Editor-in-Chief of Vogue International, a newly created role, it was announced on Friday by Jonathan Newhouse, Chairman and Chief Executive of Condé Nast International.

"Justine Bellavita brings a wealth of experience, know-how, professionalism and talent to the role. She is a number one in the field of digital fashion journalism and ideal for leading our new central digital Vogue team", commented Newhouse.

“I’m thrilled to return to the Vogue brand. This is a rare opportunity for any journalist, and I’m looking forward to working in collaboration with multiple Vogue teams around the world, playing a part in the continued success of Vogue now and for the future,” added Bellavita.

Based in London, Bellavita will lead the new central Vogue International editorial team, creating high quality digital journalism covering all international aspects of fashion. Reporting to the President of Condé Nast International Wolfgang Blau, Bellavita will take up this new role in October.

The Vogue International team includes editors, reporters, interactive and video journalists, a social media and audience development team and a dedicated Snapchat team. The central digital team supports and coordinates joint editorial projects and internationally relevant coverage for Condé Nast International’s Vogue teams in Asia, Europe and Latin America.

Bellavita was the Digital Editor of Vogue Italia, under Editor-in-Chief Franca Sozzani, where she doubled unique users to the site in her first year, going on to launch the current iteration of Vogue.it, says Condé Nast. She is currently Editor of VanityFair.it, having overseen its editorial integration with the print team, as well as supervising its social media activities, branded content production and media partnerships. Bellavita has also worked as a news and feature writer in San Francisco, New York and Paris.

“Justine impressed us from the start with her style of leadership, her international experience as a digital journalist and her profound understanding of brand Vogue”, added Wolfgang Blau.
