La Provence selects atex content for newsrooms operations

Atex has announced that La Provence is upgrading its content management system to H11, the atex content multi-platform and cross-channel publishing environment.

Located in Marseille, La Provence is a regional daily newspaper with a circulation of 180,000 copies, reaching over 580,000 readers in the three areas of Bouches du Rhone, Vaucluse, and Alpes de Hautes-Provence.  Since 2006, the newspaper has focused on delivering innovative print and digital offerings for its readers, while achieving production process efficiencies.  The atex content is a single publishing environment for both print and online media allows the newspaper to manage its workflow with one system and one database that can deliver content across multiple channels.

Twelve years after its initial deployment of Hermes Content Management, La Provence decided to migrate to the latest atex content H Series release because it is specifically designed for cross-channel content delivery. The choice is motivated by the mounting demand for online information, exemplified by the success of the newspaper's main web site: laprovence.com.  La Provence sees digital publishing playing a greater role within the media industry, with newspapers moving increasingly to multimedia newsrooms.

Adding to that motivation is La Provence's need to improve efficiency and control costs.  With H11, users can manage content directly, without external IT support, while reporters continue to produce a high volume of pages for the web site using MediaDesktop and Newsroom11.  Because many of La Provence's users have previous experience using the features in atex content, the newspaper expects a smooth transition to H11 along with a reduced timeframe for training.
