Launch: heyday

A new online magazine, heyday, which celebrates an “older, bolder and wiser” generation launches on June 17th.

Launch: heyday
Lynda Clark: “Heyday will be diverse, upbeat and inspiring and we can’t wait to launch!”

The intention of heyday is to encourage the over 55’s to live their dreams – whether that means backpacking around the world, dressing to impress, starting a new business, working for charity or cultivating the perfect allotment.

Behind the new venture is Lynda Clark, who is also the editor of First Time Buyer Magazine, which encourages mainly younger people to get on to the housing ladder. Now she is turning her attention to a generation who have mainly paid off their mortgages, seen their children out of nappies and into university, and are looking to put themselves centre-stage once again.

Lynda says: “We are so excited to be bringing this new website and magazine to the market for an older and bolder generation. The over 50’s make up a third of the working population and research tell us they are more likely to start up their own business than any other cohort. They are affluent consumers of food, clothes and homeware, are enthusiastic global travellers, keen charitable volunteers and increasingly tech savvy. Heyday is all about celebrating the things that really matter to this generation – staying healthy and active, contributing to the world, experiencing new adventures and having a lot of fun along the way.”

The online magazine will feature a wide range of articles from specialist writers including interviews with more senior celebrities and figures in the world of business and the arts. The launch edition of heyday will kick off with an interview with celebrity garden designer Danny Clarke who is soon set to make a reappearance on our television screens.

According to the publishers, heyday will offer useful and practical features on subjects of interest; starting with subjects as diverse as where to volunteer, practical upcycling and points to consider if deciding between a caravan or a motorhome. In addition, property will be a big part of the new venture – from helping children on to the housing ladder, to suggestions for the perfect option for downsizing; not to mention plenty of suggestions for home improvements and decoration.

“Heyday will be diverse, upbeat and inspiring and we can’t wait to launch!” adds Lynda.
